Usage Method For Scarless™ Hydrogel
Scars can be better cared for to reduce their appearance. Speed up your skin's recovery with these easy steps and tips.
1
Step 1: Eliminate Impurities
Wash the scar with soap and water or a gentle cleanser such as the Dermacyn Woundcare Solution. Ensure that the scar is clean and dry.
2
Step 2: Protective Barrier
Apply a thin layer of ScarLess™ hydrogel on the wound and its surrounding area. The hydrogel contains silicone which forms a protective barrier against bacteria.
3
Step 3: Renew
Gently rub the hydrogel until it is evenly distributed. The anti-microbial property helps to prevent microbial activities, reducing infections.
4
Step 4: Consistent Application
Repeat the application for three times daily. Scar healing can be a long process. Consistent application of the hydrogel helps to maintain an optimum environment for the scar to heal.
Dermacyn® Scarless™ Hydrogel is recommenced for continuous application over a minimum period of 4 months. Larger scars may take longer to heal.
Recommendations for Scar Care
Whether you are concerned about scars from stitches, cuts, surgical procedures or even acne, the best way to prevent a scar or reduce its appearance is to care for it properly.
Use the right scar management product. ScarLess™ is an advanced silicone-based hydrogel specially formulated for scar reduction. It has antimicrobial property which is ideal to prevent bacterial infection and promote scar healing.
Reduce environmental stressor. Reducing exposure to UV rays minimize discoloration to existing scars. Apply sun care products during outdoor activities.
Avoid harsh products. Avoid using skin care products containing ingredients that may increase skin sensitivity.
Do not pick at scabs. Right after an injury to the skin, the body starts its healing process and forms a scab. Picking off the scab not only reopens the wound and introduce bacteria; it could also create a larger scar.
